Summer Enrichment Opportunities for CUSD #205 Students

Galesburg CUSD #205 is collaborating in our community with both Carl Sandburg College and Knox College this summer to provide exciting opportunities to our students. The programs provide a safe and supportive environment for students during the summer break.

Knox College 4 Kids

Knox College 4 Kids began in 1975 and is an annual summer academic enrichment program offered by Knox College. Participating students select from an array of couresse provide by local community professionals and educators. The camp runs from July 8-19th, 2024 this year.

CUSD #205 students entering grades 1-8 for the 2024-2025 school year will be provided a scholarship to attend Knox College 4 Kids by District #205. Scholarships will be provided on a first-come, first serve basis and a limited number are available.

To take advantage of this opportunity, guardians must enter "C4KCUSD" in the "event code" portion of the registration. District #205 will not be providing transportation to College 4 Kids.

Carl Sandburg College Dual Credit

Carl Sandburg College Dual Credit courses are offered by Carl Sandburg College and students who earn a passing grade in a dual credit course receive both high school and college credit. For more information about Dual Credit offered by CSC please click here. District #205 will be providing scholarships for the summer courses offered by CSC for District #205 students entering 10-12 grade for the 2024-2025 school year. Students can take a maximum of two courses.

Scholarships will be provided on a first-come, first serve basis and a limited number are available.

Interested students should begin by applying at www.sandburg.edu/apply. (new students to CSC only need to apply). Next, students will need to schedule and take the Accuplacer test. After completion of the test students will need to schedule a meeting with their high school counselor to determine what classes best fit their needs, as well as compete the registration form. The form will then be sent to Megan Jones at Carl Sandburg College.
