The Galesburg Community Foundation has purchased new instruments for CUSD #205 through the Jack Larson Rent-Free Instrument Program.
The funds were raised with the assistance of Jack's son, John Larson, and some of the GHS band alumni from the Sally Rynott years. John Larson worked with the CEO of the Blessing Instrument manufacturer and Kidder Music, who were able to sell these new instruments at a discounted price.
In total, the Jack Larson Fund was able to purchase 77 new instruments for District #205, which will be provided to band students. These instruments will give students that cannot afford to purchase an instrument an opportunity to participate in band.
