As a part of CUSD #205’s commitment to provide students with programming related to
overall wellness and anti-bullying resources, we are thrilled to bring assemblies hosting Rachel’s Challenge to students in grades 5-12.
Rachel’s Challenge is a powerful presentation based on the life of Rachel Scott, the first fatality in the Columbine High School massacre on April 20, 1999. Rachel’s Challenge honors the life of Rachel through encouraging students and staff alike to show kindness to others by starting a chain reaction of this in order to reduce the likelihood of school-based violence.
“I am thrilled that the Galesburg Public Schools Foundation is supporting our students by bringing this impactful presentation to them. For over twenty years, this nationally recognized program has served thousands of school districts, imparting a message of inclusion and responsibility for each of us to care for one another”, states Mindi Ritchie, Director of Student & Staff Supports for CUSD #205. Students at Lombard Middle School and Galesburg Junior Senior High School will participate in a grade-level assembly on September 27 and September 28, 2023.
