Alice Green is back with a new update about her time in Japan!
I have been very busy! I had the opportunity to go to Nagoya City for the first time! I went twice, once with a very nice Rotary member and another time with an Australian foreign exchange student whose name is also Alice! On the trip with the Rotary member, I went to Nagoya Castle and Osu Street. We ate very delicious food! With the student from Australia, we went shopping in some cool vintage shops. Another trip was to Kanazawa, a famous place known for the Kanazawa Castle and its gardens. It was quite a long drive, 3 hours, but it was worth it. Another trip was to Shirakawa town. It is one of my favorite towns because it is very beautiful! While there, I tried matcha for the first time, went to where the famous green tea was made, and went sightseeing. It was the first time I had taken the train alone. I also went back to Gujo, where we went sightseeing at a beautiful park and made the famous fake wax miniature food.
I have made some good friends at school. One of my new friends and I went to karaoke and the mall. I had lots of fun with her! My school just had its sports festival. I played with the brass band, but I also competed in tug of war. My team was the blue team and we won the whole festival! It was so fun! Brass band has been taking a lot of my time, but I am enjoying it a lot.
Last weekend I went to a theme park called Nagashima Spaland. It was so much fun! We went to an Illumination show and rode several rollercoasters! I also learned about and made traditional Japanese pottery. Overall, I have been having such a good time here and I am very happy.
I am grateful for everyone who has taken me to these amazing places and I’m looking forward to future experiences!
