Part of the GAVC Early Childhood Class involves students making weekly visits to Bright Futures to work with students. However, on December 11th, the Cheetah and Fish Bright Futures classrooms traveled to Galesburg Junior Senior High School for a morning of gingerbread fun!
Casey Trone, a GAVC student said, "One thing I enjoyed about the students being in our classroom was for them to see where we go to school. They always ask where I go once I leave the classroom and I say I have to go back to the high school but they finally got to see where we go to school. It was cool to see them in our space."
Casey also said that students enjoyed the coloring activity table and the craft table. Of course, their favorite activity was making homemade gingerbread cookies. The GAVC students took the baked Gingerbread to Bright Futures the following day so they could decorate them with icing.
According to GAVC student, Jaylin Johnsen, "All the kids had so much fun and couldn't stop talking to me about it, even days later! I thoroughly enjoyed watching them interact with all the activities we had planned out and everything coming together. My kids enjoyed playing at the Playdough station; they had so much fun molding and shaping it. I enjoyed the kids coming to the classroom, and I know they did so with all the tiny smiles!"
We hope the little learners enjoyed their morning of fun at Galesburg Junior Senior High School!
