The Galesburg High School Marching Streaks took first place at the Maple Leaf Classic held in Geneseo on Saturday, September 21.
Band Director, Andy Empy shared some thoughts on how well the students performed, even under circumstances they were not used to. "The kids continually work hard at every rehearsal and have been exceeding my expectations. Their positive attitude and work ethic, along with our outstanding student leadership, are pushing this band to new levels. At Geneseo, the kids were faced with a rain day, which made the competition an indoor stand still performance, but they made the best of it and were very successful!"
