We are approaching the month of October, National Bullying Prevention Month, so it was the perfect opportunity to welcome BMX celebrity and Motivational Speaker, Matt Wilhelm, to Galesburg CUSD #205 Schools.
Matt Wilhelm's anti-bullying school assemblies focus on kindness, positivity, and the difference that one person can make. Click here to watch a message from Matt that he provided this week for Galesburg.
Matt is a BMX Flatland rider who is a three-time X Games Medalist, World Championship Silver Medalist, two-time United States National Champion, and Guinness World Record Holder. Many students recognized Matt and his talent from America's Got Talent where he advanced to the semi-finals and won the America's Got Talent YouTube Competition.
We would like to thank the Galesburg Public Schools Foundation who generously sponsored Matt with funds earned through their partnership with Choral Dynamics of Galesburg. Students at King Elementary, Silas Willard Elementary, Steele Elementary, Lombard Middle School, and Galesburg Junior High School were all able to watch the exciting BMX tricks and listen to Matt's powerful anti-bullying message.
Matt Wilhelm reminded students and staff to never give up, that hard work pays off, and that you can be someone's Batman. If your student attends one of the schools listed above, please ask them about the assembly and the powerful message Matt shared.
