The Nielson Elementary students in Mrs. Kleine's third grade class each adopted a pet at the beginning of February. The adoption process itself was part of the fun! Each student filled out an application, chose their pet, decided on a name and received adoption papers.
The agreement required each student to take care of his or her pet by reading to it at least 15 minutes each night. The reading is still going strong, and most of the students bring their pet to class each day, ready to read to it!
