A familiar face will be joining the Galesburg High School Family. Mr. Tom Hawkins, previously the principal at Churchill Junior High, will be the principal at Galesburg High School at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.
Mr. Hawkins is a 1989 graduate of Galesburg High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in education. He completed his master's in educational leadership from Western Illinois University. He is currently finishing his superintendent’s endorsement from Western Illinois University.
Tom and his wife, Delinda, have been strong advocates for Galesburg schools for over 20 years. Both of their sons, Clark and Reid, are recent graduates of Galesburg High School. He is proud of the staff and students of Galesburg Community Unit School District #205, and looks forward to his continued service to the students of the Galesburg community.
“Our school community is fortunate to have a leader that is completely committed to each students’ personal and academic growth. We are confident that Tom will build an administrative team that is both caring and driven to help all people develop and thrive in a 21st Century learning environment,” according to Dr. John Asplund, Superintendent of CUSD #205.
